As my experience of déjà vu increases, I realize that perhaps it is not the mental aberration I once thought it was. It might just be a glimpse into the true nature of reality: that time is not finite—it is illusory. Fundamentally time does not exist, it is a construct of our collective minds. The nature of reality is a unity existing in a multi dimensional perfection. In this original state, there is no time, all things exist simultaneously: past present and future. When we see the same thing from a lower perspective of reality, it looks like time exists and is solid. Déjà vu is a brief glimpse—a glitch in the matrix—when we see time’s non-linear quality.

Perhaps this would explain why I’ve been having some very scary premonition dreams lately. I think or dream about an event and a few days later it happens. Not good things either. I had a dream that I was taking Andrew to the IWK and a few days later that is exactly what happened. Also dreamt the other day that Megan, our nanny was in an accident with the kids and guess what…
Ususally these are more day dreams than night dreams.
Either way they are getting more and more frequent and I’m wondering if I should be trying to stop the things I’m thinking about from happening or just let it be.
Thoughts….
hey sista, very interesting stuff. Well for one, your not creating these things just by thinking about them. Random thoughts do not create reality, focused repetitive thoughts with emotional content help to shape reality. It sounds like your having honest premonitions of the future, which is actually just a probability. As someone once described to me it is like you are driving a car on a windy highway in the mountains, you can’t really see where you are going next, but a bird a mile up can see very clearly where you will probably be in the future. But it is never 100%, you can always stop, have lunch and turn around.
In your case, if what you envision seems life threatening, then it might be good to slow life down so you can see the signs to stop it. Otherwise, If it is not life threatening, just notice it and let it go. The buddhist teach that sometime these things are karma ripening, (either personal, or collective karma.) So when negative things happen, it is a clearing up of stuff from the past. But the buddhist also teach myriad ways to purify one’s karma so that we don’t have to experience these negative things, which are a hindrance in our life. But not everything is 100% Karma, sometimes shit just happens.
Thanks for asking the question.
So true, think of this very paradox all the time. Very well written and eloquent.
Dear Your Sista
Assume for a moment that you are temporarily seeing reality as it truly is, timeless and perfect. You are seeing a particular possible manifestation of reality. Assuming you are having premonitions, then, according to the Art of War, preperation (in physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, etc forms) could help considerably.
According to Buddhism, you should neither attach noir avoid the occurence. Attachment could lead to the fruition of these thoughts, and since these premonitions seem generally bad, attachment should be avoided. Aversion manifests reality in a different way and is attachment to the avoidance. Preperation for possibilities while acting for the best in the moment will prepare you in case and should avoid unnecessarily manifesting the negative.
